Rice with mushrooms

 Mushrooms are used in traditional Chinese medicine for 2000 years due to their great   nutritional value in carbohydrates and proteins. These proteins provide all the basic amino acids to our body and they are as good as animal proteins. Mushrooms are a good source of A, B,D,P vitamins and minerals such as Copper and Potassium. Mushrooms are low in calories, fat-free, cholesterol- free , hence  they are ideal food for those who are on a diet.

Ingredients:
  • 2 glasses of rice.
  • 1 glass of sliced fresh mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons butter.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt
  • Hot water
  • 1 bouillon cube
Preparation:
Brew the rice in warm water for at least thirty minutes. In a large nonstick skillet put olive oil and sauté the mushrooms, add the rice, the salt and the bouillon cube. Pour hot a little water into the mixture and bring it to boil. Season it with salt and pepper, cover it, reduce heat   and simmer until all the water is absorbed.

Turkish Salad with carrots and yogurt



Carrot salad with yogurt is a traditional Turkish salad included in healthy food recipes in Turkish Cuisine. It is tasty and nutritious. You should try it!



Ingredients :

500 gr carrots grated.
500 gr yogurt.
2 gloves garlic crushed.
½ cup of tea olive oil
flat–leaf parsley sprigs, for garnish.

Preparation :

Boil the grated carrots until they are wilted. Put the yogurt in a bowl, add the crushed garlic, the olive oil and the carrots and mix well. Garnish with parsley sprigs.



What should i eat if i am diabetic?





Diabetes is the most widespread disease which threatens human’s health. It is the fifth cause of death all over the world and if it is not treated on time it causes kidney failure, blindness, heart and peripheral arterial disease.

However the doctors suggest that the right diet and the suitable medicines can help a person with diabetes to control the disease. The grape kernels, cinnamon, green tea and legumes not only can prevent but also can control the progress of diabetes.

Persons with diabetes should eat oats in their milk or in their yogurt. Besides, once a  day if they eat cinnamon they can lower their blood sugar. They can spread cinnamon over their fruits or they can drink cinnamon in their tea.

The grape kernels and the green tea are natural medicines because they are strong antioxidants but they doctors suggest eating them on an empty stomach. 
 How should a person with diabetes  eat?
A diabetic person should eat at the same time every day. For example if he has breakfast at 7 o ' clock in the morning, he should eat his breakfast the following day at the same time. He must not have any drinks that contain sugar because the blood sugar can easily be increased. He can eat fruits, vegetables or he can drink milk with oats. Besides yogurt, legumes, oats and whole wheat bread are very important in his diet. High fiber foods are necessary because of the fact that they can normalize blood sugar,cut cholesterol and prevent colon cancer.
