Istanbul Pilaf
Ingredients:
2
glassesof long – grain rice
100 gr
almonds slivered
2 tablespoonful
butter
1 pinch
saffron
Half a
teaspoon of sugar
Boiled chicken
meat chopped into small pieces
1 cup of
peas
3 glasses
water
1 pinch
ginger
2
tablespoonful pistachios soaked in hot
water, drained an peeled
Salt
Preparation:
Wash the
rice, cover it with hot salty water for an hour and then drain it. Melt 2
tablespoonfuls of butter in a pan and sauté the blanched slivered almonds. Add
the saffron and stir well. Then, add the rice, salt, sugar and the chicken. Afterwards,
add the peas with the three glasses of water. Cook it over
medium heat. When the rice is ready add a pinch of ginger.Sprinkle
with pistachios.
