Loxandra’s meat pie

Ingredients :

For the crust :

200 gr yogurt
200 gr butter or 200 ml corn oil.
Flour as much as needed  so as the dough is not sticky and can be kneaded  easily.
1 teaspoonful of salt.
1 beaten egg yolk for basting the cover filo.
(phyllo pastry)

For the filling :

500 gr minced meat
700 gr onions.
3 eggs.
3 spoonful of cream.
250 gr parmesan cheese or kefalotiri
 A little spice
Little cinnamon.
Black pepper, salt.
1 spoonful toast.
2 spoonful butter.
Little sugar.
 

Preparation:

 

 Wash and chop the onions into slices and put them in boiling salty water. Wash them again. Coat the bottom with the butter and saute the onions. Add the minced meat ,the salt,the pepper, the cinnamon, the spice and let them cook.

Remove from heat and allow to  cool. Afterwards,add the cream ,the 3 yolks and the two whites, the cheese and the toast.
Remove from heat and allow to  cool. Afterwards,add the cream ,the 3 yolks and the two whites, the cheese and the toast. Combine the ingredients for the dough, knead it well and separate it in two parts. Roll out the dough and make two filos.( phyllo pastry).

Brush the bottom of a baking pan with olive oil and place the first sheet in the pan. Then, Place the meat mixture on top of the phyllo dough. Brush the top of a sheet of phyllo dough with the beaten yolk and place it on the meat. Bake in a preheated 170ºC oven until golden brown on top, about 30-50 minutes.
